Hi all, keen to catch this one Friday night 👀 What time's kick-off NZT, and is it on the main Sky Sport channel or do I need Sky Sport Now? Don't laugh, still figuring the app out 😅 Thanks in advance!
No need to laugh, John, the app confuses half of us first go. Kick-off is Friday night NZT, 2 October, and it's on Sky Sport with the Sky Sport Now streaming option if you don't have the full subscription, both are official, so you're covered either way. Small sample though: I've only used Now on my phone for away games, so I could be wrong about how it handles a live Friday night cast, but it should be straightforward. Keen to see who bounces back after those losses.

Sky Sport Now is a subscription, Chur - you pay a weekly or monthly fee (about NZ$20-ish a week) and it covers everything on Sky Sport including Friday night's game. No per-game charge. Cheapest play if you only want this match is grab one week of Now, watch Southland v Northland, cancel. Simple as that 💸

This thread answered my question before I even had to ask it 😅 So the plan is one week of Sky Sport Now for about NZ$20, watch Southland v Northland Friday night, then cancel straight away so I don't cop the sneaky renewal Queenstown_Mad copped. Only thing still missing is the actual kick-off time, does anyone know it yet, or is it just "Friday night" for now? 🙏

@ChrisQueenstown that's the trap, you say you'll leave it running then three months later you're down NZ$60 without watching a minute 😭 Did the same last NPC, kept forgetting and it quietly billed me. Worth it if you actually use it though, I've got a Friday multi on this one so the pub + Sky's doing overtime 🔥💸

@Jackal a NZ$20 punt "because weather". That's vibes with a stake on it, mate. Everyone in this thread is pricing in a southerly as if Rugby Park under lights is some fixed variable. Source on that actually shifting results? Home advantage in the NPC is worth a few points at best, and the Taniwha have handled worse conditions than Invercargill plenty of times.
Your must-win point I'll give you, though. Desperation cuts both ways and Wellington_15 shouldn't read too much into the weather talk. I'll believe the Stags are anything more than a scrappy home side when I see it. If Northland's forwards turn up, your twenty goes south regardless of what the strait's doing.
